Too Close is a Bonnie/Kol constructed reality vid by xxWhisperOfDreamsxx first posted in October 2012. As of February 24, 2015 it has 58,367 views on YouTube.
The video is cut with short scenes from season 4 of Vampire Diaries (as well as additional footage from other Nate Buzolic's pojects), with video manips and different colorings used to tell a coherent story.
As per author's note in the video's description:
Nate Buzolic tweeted me about this vid on 22.10.2012 when I posted it on Twitter. Kat Graham also saw the vid, since Nate told her that she should watch it and she did.
Summary
The video, done to Alex Clare's song Too Close, tells a story set in an alternate universe where Kol Mikaelson meets Bonnie Bennett during the Mikaelson Ball in season 3 and they start a relationship.
Scenes that are supposed to be flashbacks are marked in black and white, while all the others have consistent coloring.
Fan Reactions
I love this vid so much. Your use of manips was seamless; those two could have actually had all those scenes together, that's certainly what it looks like. That makes me sad because they didn't (not even close) in canon, and now they never can. I suppose that's why we have YouTube.[1]
oh god... this is freaking amazing, i ship them so hard :3[2]
A lot of commenters said that they started to ship Bonnie/Kol after watching this vid, to which Tina responded:
Thank you all for your amazing comments, I appreciate every single one of them! :) And for all of you that started shipping them after the vid - I'm really happy about that and I feel honored that my vid changed your mind! Welcome on board! LOL[3]
