Kidnapping refers to fanfic in which kidnapping is a central element. The genre may include both types of works that are dark, such as child abuse and/or rape, or fluffy, such as something that doesn't deal with any violence - usually dealing with romance (as a way to get two characters together).
Kidnapping is sometimes a trope employed in Enemies to Lovers works. In some works, the antagonist may kidnap a character to perform a particular task, or a villain may kidnap a superhero, but the increased interaction between two characters leads to greater understanding and a sexual/romantic relationship. In some cases, a greater threat can also force kidnapper and hostage to work together.
Hurt/Comfort and Angst are a large component in Kidnapping works. Stockholm Syndrome is often used.
