Incorrect Quotes are a type of fannish short work that quotes characters from one fandom saying dialogue from some other fandom, or from another piece of media such as a well-known Vine, song, or meme. For example, using characters from Haikyuu and dialogue from the website "Anti-Pickup Lines.

Some fans see it as a relaxed kind of fanwork, comical and comforting. In the midst of the pandemic, its popularity had a boom that it became common to find sites to create the lines, for example we have the Incorrect Quotes Generator Site.

Other incorrect quotes describe (inner) monologues or verbal interactions between characters from the same fandom:

Incorrect quotes are popular on Tumblr and, especially since the Tumblr NSFW Content Purge, on Twitter. Due to the formatting on Tumblr's quote posts, the original source is usually listed in the tags, rather than the post itself.
