Garcy is the smushname pairing between the characters Garcia Flynn and Lucy Preston from NBC's Timeless television series.
The first mentions of fans shipping the characters came from tumblr in late-2016, during the first half of the first season. Garcy gained slow traction with fans only to reach overnight popularity in season two when Flynn and Lucy became closer directly following the rushed rise and fall of Lyatt. Many fans jumped ship from one pairing to the other.
Etymology
The ship name "Garcy" came from tumblr user Twilight-Deviant combining the first names of both characters. The name was chosen due to its unique distinction from preexisting words or names for tag-tracking purposes. The aesthetic appeal of the name has been criticized with other fans suggesting alternatives such as "Lucia" and "Flucy." However, none caught on.
