Dreamnest was a yaoi archive created in March 2004.[1] It was intended to be a "website much like FF.net without the hang-ups they have."[2]
Dreamnest is in a ways a site for yaoi fans to come together and share their enjoyment of yaoi. However that's not all Dreamnest is exclusively! Here at Dreamnest you can post and read fanfics, post and view fanart, communicate with others on the chat and forum, scan our cyber-mall with listings of some of our favorite Ebay and online suppliers of video games and anime, and MUCH MORE! [...]If you write or draw yaoi this is definitely the place to post it, and you can do so without fear or deletion, unlike some prudish fanfiction/fanart servers.[3]
The archive had an associated Coollist mailing list for "interactive stories, general chat, or just [to] keep in touch."
Although focused primarily on anime and Japanese video games, the archive also welcomed western slash fandoms, including Harry Potter. The Harry Potter fanfiction section was entirely Remus/Sirius or Marauders era slash. The site also featured an article by Lyotto about Harry Potter slash and R/S specifically: Werewolves and Convicts and Slashing, oh my!
By July 2004, it was announced that the website would be closing due costs as it had not received any donations.[4] The site was probably not updated after this point but remained online until 2006.
