Summaries

From a blurb in the zine Dead Beat (1983):

NEW FROM BLUE JAY PRESS: We have another A5 zine in the works, this time on a STAR WARS theme, and again featuring two stories that are linked together. DOUBLE VISION, which we are hoping to print in late 1983, will feature two stories by Sue Stuart; EYE OF THE BEHOLDER and EMPEROR SKYWALKER, both set around the events in "RETURN OF THE JEDI." The zine will be a a similar length and price as this one, although we cannot promise as much artwork. Details are uncertain at this time...

From an ad in Universal Translator #24:

'Double Vision' brings you out of the ordinary SW stories told largely from the pov of Lando Calrissian. Includes 'Eye of the Beholder' and 'Emperor Skywalker'... no artwork.

Contents

  • Eye of the Beholder
  • Emperor Skywalker

Proposed Second Issue

A second issue was planned but never published. It was to contain two stories. The first was "Best Enemies" and the second one was "Knowin' What to Keep." The second story was later planned to be in the proposed zine, "Black Magic" (to feature characters created by Mr. T., Billy Dee Williams, Carl Weathers, James Earl Jones.", but that zine did not see publication either.

How do you follow a zine like DOUBLE VISION? How else but with DOUBLE VISION 2?

New from Blue Jay Press In late 1985, DOUBLE VISION 2 brings to a close Sue Stuart's 'Second Empire' Star Wars series. In DOUBLE VISION we learned of Lando Calrissian's experiences in the palace of Jabba the Hutt, and saw the events of 'Return of the Jedi' from another angle. We also discovered that Darth Vader's long-term plans for Luke called for the boy to come into his true inheritance as Emperor of the Galaxy, and we witnessed the slow reconstruction of government and defence after the cataclysmic battle of the Second Death Star. DOUBLE VISION 2 presents two further stories which continue to chart the post-Jedi universe with particular reference to that very confused gentleman - Lando Calrissian, Jedi Knight.

BEST ENEMIES -Lando meets a mysterious Jedi in the ruins of Jabba's palace, and that's only the beginning of his problems.

KNOWIN' WHAT TO KEEP - when all the battles are over and everybody seems to have settled down. Just where does one slightly dishonest ex-General wind up?

These stories are ALTERNATE UNIVERSE tales inspired by characters created by George Lucas. No attempt is being made to pass off this work as anything other than the spare-time scribblings of an amateur author. No profits will be made, and no infringement of copyright is intended.
