Celeste x Ishimaru, most known as Ishiceles or Sereishi, is a rarepair within Dangan Ronpa fandom. The ship is between Celestia Ludenberg and Kiyotaka Ishimaru, both semi-prominent characters. It has been shipped since Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc was released in 2010.
Many who ship Celeste x Ishimaru began to after seeing their friendly interactions during the Ultimate Talent Development Plan, a non-canonical sidegame included in Dangan Ronpa V3: Killing Harmony. Before DRV3, these two were shipped primarily for their complementary color schemes and Celeste's corruption factor towards the relatively naïve Ishimaru.
Celeste x Ishimaru is somewhat controversial for pairing two students in a Het relationship who are typically in the more popular same-sex couplings Celeste x Kirigiri and Ishimaru x Mondo respectively. Direct flames are rare, however, and typically happen by proxy, such as when the Game Grumps' Let's Play revived overall Ishimaru sexuality discourse in 2020. In a poll with 79 respondents on Tumblr, asking "opinions on kiyotaka x celestia?", the jokingly-phrased option "BURN IT WITH FIRE!!!!!" was the highest-picked response with 42% of the vote[1].
