Propose Merge with Category:Star Wars: Expanded Universe

From the descriptions on the titular pages (see Star Wars Legends and Star Wars Expanded Universe opening paragraphs on each) these categories are for the exact same canon content. Though I barely go here, maybe there's a split in fandom communities using different terms?? Personally I would still prefer to have just one category for this content, for easy of organization when making pages and easy of *finding* pages when I'm reading. I don't have an opinion on which name would be preferable for the category -- does anyone else have an argument for one vs the other? -- Quaelegit (talk) 06:44, 15 June 2024 (UTC)

I kind of expected the Star Wars EU category to be for the new expanded universe content, but there's definitely Legends pages in there too. I would be in favour of only one category for Legends content, and I think we may need a second category for the new EU, but I'm not familiar enough with the fandoms to split these two. --Auntags (talk) 22:52, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
The second category already exists, it's called Category:Star Wars: Disney Era right now. Unless you mean that you want a separate category for Disney's TV shows vs. books/comics/other content that's been published in 2015 and later?? I don't have a good sense how separate those two groups of media are considered by fans, I would want to ask for more peoples' opinions. -- Quaelegit (talk) 02:52, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
I think that Category:Star Wars: Expanded Universe is ambiguously named -- I've seen some people refer to post-2015 content as CEU or just EU sometimes but it's pretty rare in my corners of fandom. IMO I would have Category:Star Wars: Disney Era and Category:Star Wars Legends and get rid of Category:Star Wars: Expanded Universe (recategorising pages as appropriate). It would mean there's no separation between the Disney TV shows and the books/comics, but I'm not sure how useful that would be? Or maybe that's just me speaking as a person who loves the books and is getting into the comics. Since the vast majority of TV shows are Disney Era (the only exceptions are the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon (highly rec btw, it's hilarious), Ewoks and Star Wars: Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO), I think that would satisfy anyone who wants TV-only Disney era stuff? Though I must admit Fanlore is not my primary place for engaging with SW fandom, so feel free to ignore all of this. Spacegandalf (talk) 10:28, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
