Does anyone know how to code the first two essays on this page so they file under the first letter of their titles rather than the quotation marks? --MPH (talk) 16:01, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

{{DEFAULTSORT:words go here}}. I fixed those pages. --Alex (talk) 17:04, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
Thank you! I tried two different things, but forgot about that solution. --MPH (talk) 17:41, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

I don't know how to make those four categories in the beginning, under the asterisk, to file correctly. --MPH (talk) 22:34, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

I figured it out. It's always something... --MPH (talk) 20:46, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

Gender Meta

If Category:Gender Meta were created how would it relate to Category: Slash Meta and Category:Femslash Meta? The category would encompass meta about Gender and Fandom and Misogyny in Fandom.

more organizational subcategories?

The sorting of subcategories on this page is a little inconsistent, and since we've already got categories for Meta by Platform and Meta by Year, could we add more structural categories for Category:Meta by Topic and Category:Meta by Canon? As in, categories for meta on individual fandoms based on a named canon (Star Trek Meta, etc.) could be subcategories under Category:Meta by Canon, and other meta topic categories like Slash Meta, Mary Sue Meta, etc. could go under Category:Meta by Topic? (I was originally going to suggest "Meta by Fandom", but "fandom" is so ambiguous. Meta by Canon runs into a few edge cases like Popslash or Bandom, but I think those are canons too, just defined by the fans instead of by a copyright holder. Genre categories like Anime Meta, Science Fiction Meta, etc. could go under Meta by Topic. Or we can leave all the edge case categories under the main Meta Essays.)--aethel (talk) 17:34, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

I would love being able to sort meta by topic / canon :") - and also to see the miscellaneous meta, that doesn't fall under particular categories. If there's something that seems to fall under multiple categories, like IDK Dracula meta that touches on wider vampires-in-canon meta, it being under 2 subcategories doesn't make it any harder to find. I think it would be okay to leave edge cases under the parent. Scrolling through these pages is already hard since the Meta template puts everything under meta essays - which I'm not sure is a good idea, because it means stuff like AO3 Ship Stats get categorized as an essay, which is not really a categorization I love.
