Hi, just a quick question about the crossover relationship category. I am creating articles for Star Trek relationships and I plan on creating some for pairings of characters from different Star Trek series, example: Crusher/Janeway. Now, my question is should this type of relationship be categorized as a crossover relationship? My first thought was no, because Star Trek is one overarching universe and fandom, however some of these characters never meet in canon, so, this is why I am asking. ---- Kingstoken (talk) 21:08, 11 October 2018 (UTC)

It looks like all Star Trek pairings are in Category:Star Trek Relationships‎ regardless of what sub-series they come from, and my knee-jerk reaction is to say that's where ships like Crusher/Janeway should go and if there's a need to separate the relationships farther down the line, start breaking out Category:Star Trek TOS Relationships‎ or whatever. (I mean, I'm not really in any ST fandoms, so if ST fans think they're crossovers then I'd defer to them, but, well, I love organization so of course I've gotta give my two cents.) - Hoopla (talk) 22:53, 11 October 2018 (UTC)
I don't consider shipping characters from different Star Trek series to be crossovers in any useful sense. It's all the same universe (except for the canon alternate universes), and they often rehire an actor to play the same character on more than one series or movie if the timeline works.--aethel (talk) 15:00, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
