Delete??

I keep almost accidentally selecting this instead of the correct Category:Books & Literature when using HotCat. I already fixed the only page that linked to this redirect, so is it okay if we go ahead and delete it? -- Quaelegit (talk) 23:08, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I would expect it to be re-created if it's deleted instead of left as a redirect. Someone will either add "category:books" to a page, or create a link to it, not realizing that we have a "books & literature" category. I agree. This could definitely be recreated if we delete. But one thing to be aware of -- pages categorized with a redirect are not autoadded to the correct category. So we still run the risk of someone using Category:Books on a page, and that page would not appear in Category:Books & Literature. --Auntags (talk) 21:11, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

Is there a report somewhere that can show all pages in categories that are redirects? (That is, where the category itself is a redirect.)--aethel (talk) 19:49, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
