Aoi Asahina/Makoto Naegi, mostly known as Naehina and/or Naeasa, is a rarepair within Dangan Ronpa fandom. The ship is between Aoi Asahina and Makoto Naegi, both prominent characters. It has been shipped since Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc was released in 2010.

The ship name "Naehina" is commonly confused for Hajime Hinata/Makoto Naegi, a more popular ship within the fandom.

Canon Background

Like with most pairings involving Makoto Naegi, the ship came about primarily due to the suggestive nature of Trigger Happy Havoc's Free Time Events. In those, Asahina gets Naegi be her practice boyfriend. The exact phrase "boyfriend," (or "girlfriend,") is rarely heard of in Dangan Ronpa overall. This level of ship tease wouldn't be seen in Dangan Ronpa again until Dangan Ronpa 2: Goodbye Despair's Hajime Hinata/Peko Pekoyama, where Hajime Hinata develops a crush on Peko Pekoyama.
