- Albert and The Count are looking at the latter's art collection; the way Monte Cristo talks about adding Albert to his works makes the boy nervous. He tells him not to joke around, but The Count is quite serious about Albert's beauty.
- Back home he's not gone out since that date and is getting bored. He complains to Franz, but no matter his suggestion, Albert starts being alarmed and ranting about what could happen to him. Finally Franz manages to calm him down, and the two go to bed. However, with Albert next to him talking in his sleep about horrors, Franz finds himself wondering "what if".[2]
