Excerpts
XFFFA- How long have you been writing X-Files fanfiction?
E- I think I started my first story about 4 years ago... it was a long time after that before I actually let anyone read it though. I concentrated more on creating graphics (and still do), but I kept coming back to that story and eventually posted it and to my great surprise people liked it, so I wrote some more.
XFFFA- What story, author or episode inspired you to write fanfiction?
E- I don't think I could narrow it down to just one thing. Everything about the show inspired me to want to be creative, graphically and in writing. It really has become my muse over the years. I've found that reading fan-fic, especially really good fan-fic, inspires me to create graphics, but it actually discourages me from writing... there are so many really great writers out there, it tends to remind me that I don't actually know what I'm doing. But then I get an idea in my head that wont go away and find myself back in front of the keyboard giving it another shot.
XFFFA- How did you find fanfictionon the net? Do you remember the first story you read?
E- I don't remember the first story I read, but I do remember where I was... I was at the U of O, waiting for my boyfriend to finish up some work and I was really board. He saw my boredom, so he put me in front of a computer, showed me the Internet for the first time and pointed me to some x-files info, I think it was 'Rutgers Page'... I found tons of these stories that people had written and I don't think he heard from me for the rest off the day. Wasn't to long after that I went out and got my own computer.
XFFFA- If you could be any character in the show who would you be and why?
E- That's a hard one. I suppose I would want Scully's strength... and her wardrobe for that matter. I've already got Mulder's sense of humor (unfortunately) but I do admire his determination and perseverance. The truth is though, they are both far to screwed up for me to actually want to live either of their lives.
XFFFA- If you could change any character in the show who would it be and why?
E- If by changing I could bring one back to life it'd be Pendrall, I always just thought his crush on Scully was very sweet.
