World War I (1914-1918) is the setting for a number of fanworks.
Stories set in WWI might be set in their canon timeline, or be Alternate Universes in which the characters from canons set in other time periods are placed in this period. These are often called Historical AUs.
According to the number of works tagged with each tag on AO3, WWI AUs are less popular than World War II AUs, perhaps because it is further in the past and less well-known, or because fewer popular media fandoms are set in that period.
