Vlad Masters is the primary antagonist of Danny Phantom. He is a prominent character within the cartoon and popular with fans. As of October 2023, he is the fifth most fanwork'd character from Danny Phantom as a whole on Archive of Our Own, behind Danny Fenton, Sam Manson, Tucker Foley and Jazz Fenton. Other places where fandom lives place him on the same level of prominence.

His most common ship by far is with Danny Fenton, forming Danny/Vlad. His second, with Maddie Fenton, forming Maddie/Vlad, is almost always implied to comply with canon rather than as a focal pairing. The polyship of Jack/Maddie/Vlad is also common, more so than just Jack/Vlad.

Vlad Masters is also a popular character in self-shipping works. He can arguably be called a Tumblr sexyman.
