Virginia Lee Smith was a fan fiction writer and a fan artist who began illustrating fanzines in the mid-1970s. In 2009, she put her extensive collection of fanzines up for auction to raise funds for an educational network. In an online interview she discusses her contributions to Star Trek fandom and its social and spiritual impact. The video is available on youtube.[1]
She passed away October 3, 2010, at the age of 88.
