I'm a podficcer, a lapsed vidder, and all around fandom enthusiast. My pronouns are she/her/hers, I live in the Twin Cities, and my fandoms are too many and varied to list.
Fannish History
I've been involved in fandom since the mid-90s when I discovered Star Trek, Star Wars, Due South, and the internet simultaneously. I taught myself how to vid and did a bit of that, primarily for anime fandoms, in the late 90s through 2008. I started creating podfic somewhere in the early 00s, but didn't post it online until 2009, when I put a podfic of Stealing Harry I'd created a few years prior up for download.
I'm primarily known for my podfic in fandom, the most popular of which are probably rageprufrock's Drastically Redefining Protocol, wordstrings's A Thousand Threads of What-Might-Have-Beens, and Speranza's 4 Minute Window.
I attend a lot of local conventions and help organize them when I can. I have the dubious honor of being the co-creator of what is, to my knowledge, the world's first podfic convention, Podfication.
Current Favorites
My fannish heart currently belongs to Black Sails, The Adventure Zone, the 2016 Ghostbusters, The Raven Cycle, The Musketeers, and anything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that Steve Rogers is involved in. I tend pick up a new fandom that is THE BEST FANDOM I'VE EVER BEEN IN every 6 months or so, but none of them ever really leave my heart.
Transformative Works Policy
I have a blanket policy for transformative works, so if you'd like to remix something of mine, please do! Especially, if you're another podficcer who would like to re-pod (or re-record) a podfic I've already made. You don't even have to let me know, but I would love it if you did so I can shower you with praise.
If you're an author who'd like to know more about why I'm asking you for permission to publicly post a podfic I've made of your work, check out my Dear Author letter over on my DW. Incidentally, I'm also the person who started the Dear Author trend among the podfic community way back when in an effort to try and give authors better information about what it means when a podficcer reaches out to them to ask permission to record their work.
Miscellaneous
If this page hasn't been updated in a while and you're looking to reach me, I'm basically revolutionaryjo on every social media network there is to be. You can also reach me under that username at gmail.
