Unveiling Meme

I don't have any examples handy but people have also been photoshopping the unveiling video to reveal other images. I haven't seen any "fandom" ones yet so i'd call this more of a general/news meme.

• there's also a fair amount of, like, Actual Art Criticism of the portrait and its symbolism and discussion of the artist's intentions, Charles' involvement, whose vision contributed how to the final result. idk whether to include that in "fandom about the portrait".... like when it's today.com (as i linked at the top of this page) I wouldn't count it, but for random people posting to tumblr (ex1, ex. 2, ex 3).... maybe?

We know Charles & Yeo discussed the portrait, so I don't think it is implausible that, during the brainstorming process, Yeo asked Charles what kind of look he wanted. I work as an illustrator, I have done many portraits, and that's like, step one of any commission. So as much as I love the narrative of a subversive artist getting one over on the Royals- and as a commission, no less!- I think it is much more likely Yeo followed Charles' requests. Charles did see a preview of the portrait before the public reveal; he knew what it looked like.

Which makes the public reaction WAAAAAAY FUNNIER.
