I joined Fanlore in November 2023 and am looking forward to contributing to this community as I have always had an interest in preserving fandom history. Despite being new to contributing on Fanlore, I have been active in online fannish spaces since the mid-2000s.

Fandom History

Some of the fandoms that I always come back to are—Harry Potter, kripke era Supernatural, Hockey rpf, and Teen Wolf. I am also active in some much smaller ones (looking @ you Gattaca fandom and Generation Kill).

I tend to follow the standard migration patterns for fandom. Due to this, I have been active on various web archives, Quizilla, Livejournal, Fanfiction.net, AO3, and Tumblr. I think I first got really into internet fannish spaces through Harry Potter and bandom fic on Quizilla and LJ. In the early 2010s, I helped run an RP forum for Harry Potter. In this capacity, I worked closely with others to oversee the forum’s operations, handling administrative responsibilities related to policies, regulations, and site enhancements. I was active in those places and the “Polls & Quizzes,” section for Yahoo! Answers for a few years before transitioning to more exclusively LJ and Tumblr. These days, I am most active on Tumblr and AO3.

My current experience in fandom is more along the lines of reading fic and making gifsets/graphics on Tumblr. Previously, I was more involved in fic writing, crafting fic rec lists, making primers, or curating playlists for 8tracks.
