Thuvia Ptarth, is a vidder and fanwriter who has been active in many fandoms.

In Buffy the Vampire Slayer fandom, she commissioned the vid Origin Stories which contributed to discussions around race in media and fandom in 2008.

On November 5, 2020, Thuvia Ptarth's only Destiel fanfiction (blink) began to receive increased engagement from Supernatural fans. This may be part due to the fact Thuvia's fic is the first Destiel fanfic posted on Ao3.

I appreciate the enthusiastic comments on my sole Destiel story, SPN fandom, but I haven't watched an episode of the show since 2012 and have no idea what you're talking about.[1]

Later that month, Thuvia was incorrectly named as the author of the first Destiel fanfiction, in a post widely circulated on Tumblr. Thuvia herself responded to point out that while she was the first author to post a Destiel fic on Ao3, several other Destiel fics were posted on other archives and blogging platforms first.[2]

On Warnings, Subtitles & Permissions

From Thuvia Ptarth's Ao3 profile:

On content notes: I warn for all AO3 required warnings and physical triggers for vids (or explicitly choose not to warn for nonphysical triggers), but don't always provide notes or tags for other potentially triggering content.

On vid subtitles: All the vids have subtitles available in streaming and download (unless there are no lyrics or dialogue).

On transformative works: Feel free to remix any of my work in any noncommercial way, including, but not limited to, remix challenges, commentaries, podfic, or parody, as long as you keep my pseudonym attached and link back to the original. I'd love it if you let me know about the remix, but that's not a requirement.

Showing my vids at cons/vid parties/other public spaces: Please do! Just let me know about it. All my vid posts have download links to the highest definition version I have available. For streaming, please use the host for the embed in the AO3 post (I post to YouTube for distribution, but sometimes embed the Vimeo version when YT has syncing issues I didn't discover before posting).[3]
