Thendara Council was a Darkover council. It was sometimes referred to as "Thendara Council of Friends of Darkover."
There was a lot of overlap in membership with Friends of Darkover, and in fact, may be the same group of fans.
The "Thendara Council" did the editing for the publications of Thendara House.
This was one of the first four Darkover Councils. The other three were: Armida Council, Keeper's Tower, and Valeron Council.
In January 1977, Jacqueline Lichtenberg wrote: " THENDARA COUNCIL covers Berkeley and I presume most of the East Bay Area near San Francisco, California. The address is the same as that of this Newsletter. It is headed by MZB herself and "functions mainly through her family members. Contact Thendara at peril of being drafted to sit on Comyn Council which means working on this newsletter.)" [1]
