TikTok Edit Trend

The majority of the TikTok edit trend tended to focus on lines from the songs' bridge, though a few did include a longer segment of the song:

He stole her youth and promised heaven
The men start wars yet Troy hates Helen
Women's hearts are lethal weapons
Did you hold mine and feel threatened?
Hear my lyrics, taste my venom
You are still my great obsession

Edits for the audio typically focused on one or multiple women or girls who were treated poorly by the canon or by the fandom, particularly where the creator of the edit felt other characters (often, but not always, male characters) held more of the blame for a series of events. This made it similar to other edits, memes and discussions within fan spaces such as Yeah we put your girl in the fandom and they villainized her beyond comprehension. and "We need more 'X'" Y'all can't even handle 'Y'.

Other edits focused on younger characters such as teens and children who were blamed in canon for actions ultimately orchestrated by adults; this use has been particularly popular within the Percy Jackson fandom with edits from the TV series.
