Tender Expressions is a 58-page gen Spock-centric novel by Wendy Montgomery.
Descriptions
From an ad in Universal Translator #29 : "When Spock is approaching pon farr, and, when T'Alina joins the Enterprise, it seems that Spock's problems are over."
Summary from The McCoy List: "McCoy is delighted when Spock becomes bonded to T'Alina, a new member of the Enterprise crew. Tragedy strikes when T'Alina is injured on a landing party assignment. McCoy is not able to save her, but does save the child she was carrying. McCoy returns to Vulcan to help care tor the child and finds he is reluctant to return to the Enterprise."
Reactions and Reviews
Another Spock story, tinged with sadness. T'Alina agrees to become Spock's wife, giving him happiness so long denied. Sharing all the highs and lows in their marriage softens his mask a little so when the finality occurs he is unable to cope. A very good story exploring the depths of a person's commitment to another. Well written, Wendy has given the story a 'whole' feel since she gives free reign to each person's perspective in the story. [1]
