Talk:The Magnus Archives
There needs to be some discussion on this talk page regarding this removal of content: https://fanlore.org/w/index.php?title=The_Magnus_Archives&type=revision&diff=1815708&oldid=1815705 --MPH (talk) 13:51, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- At the very least we should restore the section on fans criticizing other fans, as I find it to be fairly accurate, if wanting examples. Liaroflesbos (talk) 14:49, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- I'm going to restore that section. Please discuss edits here. --MPH (talk) 16:31, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. That must have been by accident seeing as I put it there then took it away. Bluecurtains
- I'm going to restore that section. Please discuss edits here. --MPH (talk) 16:31, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
The controversy section
The controversy section is getting very large and it is not organised. Additions to the page are of course welcome but I think it needs to be either organised in a chronological manner, or by topic. Does anyone have thoughts on which way would be better? I have moved things around a bit but I don't want to tread on previous editors' toes, and I myself am new to fanlore and wiki editing. It also lacks a lot of citations, but I think there's not much to be done about this as so much happens on discord. - Bluecurtains 12 April 2021
Quotes for later??
Haven't read the page yet, don't really go here, but stumbled across some tumblr meta/commentary that seems possibly useful for the page so saving it here for now:
Getting into the Magnus Archives fandom before you finish the series is wild because they’ve all made a collective decision to pretend the cast loves each other and it’s all just an office drama, supported by copious fanfic and fanart and things. And then you get to the actual content and it’s like,, most of them genuinely hate each other. Not even in a cute way, they genuinely want each other to die
I'll always believe that the fandom re-interpretation of Elias as a flamboyant, melodramatic theater kid who wears bright green suits and eye-themed jewelry does a disservice to how funny it is that he is, canonically, a very boring man.
*talking to someone I’m trying to get into tma* Ok so that’s Jon, the main character. Then there’s Jonny, the guy who wrote it. There’s also Jonny, Jonny’s character in the band the Mechanisms. And of course don’t forget John, the character who Jonny - the creator - is playing in upcoming podcast Re: Dracula. You need to remember that Rusty Quill and the transcripts really like to spell Jon (you remember, the main character) as John. Yeah, yeah, so don’t worry, it’s not hard to remember at all.
more later maybe. -- Quaelegit (talk) 05:07, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
