Canon Information
Is there too much for wrestling now? I have two concerns: first that two kinds of wrestling are listed (isn't "Professional Wrestling" the way one would refer to all of wrestling fandom, including the WWE?) and second that none of the other fandoms have so much canon information. I think people who want to know what kind of superheroes pro wrestling has can just google it, right? If the WWE is markedly different, then one pulled point could be "Professional Wrestling, including World Wrestling Entertainment"
I'm also wondering if the list can be trimmed down or rearranged in general. All the Marvel things could go on one Marvel bullet, maybe? Also, lots of the Marvel and DC items are in the history section already, right? At the very least I think I'll put the list in multiple columns, but not until we decide what to do about the wrestling stuff, because it will look weird in columns with just two big chunks of text. - Hoopla (talk) 22:40, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
- I'm interested adding more about the genre's growth, from comics to adaptations and the popularity due to films in recents years, and that would have sections regarding the big superhero universe brands. caes (talk) 22:48, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
- Wikipedia has Superhero fiction and related pages which you might find useful to link to! There's probably some interesting fannish history for this page with regard to people who were fans as kids and then grew up to be producers and stuff, for sure. Do you have an opinion about the wrestling stuff or me rearranging the list of canons for now, though? - Hoopla (talk) 23:16, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
Fandoms
I think "superhero fandoms" should be a category, and the "Fandoms with canon superheroes" section should be a short list of noteworthy examples, with the intro paragraph giving a link to the category. There are too many superhero fandoms to list them all, and it just clutters the page. I'm not into enough non-DC/Marvel superhero fandoms to know what else would be notable.
Possible examples: First superhero fandom (is that Superman?), highest-grossing superhero movie/series, popular non-English fandoms (shonen anime series?), superheroes that started in video games, non-powered superheroes, etc. (Are there fantasy-not-scifi superheroes?) - Elf (talk) 17:25, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
