Examples

Is there any sense in adding more examples? I instantly thought of at least two not mentioned here. anotherslashfan 11:00, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Sure, why not? I was looking around for examples that weren't from my particular corner of fandom (two dude buddy cops, etc.) and especially for ones with female characters (ie Cameron/River) but didn't really come up with a lot-- this is one of those things you can't really google these unless you already know what you're looking for. So if you know of some different ones, sure! -- Liviapenn 11:49, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
One way of finding these stories may be via the tags Doppelganger and Crossover at the AO3, here's the link: http://archiveofourown.org/works?utf8=%E2%9C%93&selected_tags[tags][]=184&selected_tags[tags][]=11000&boolean_type=and&tag_id=Doppelganger&commit=Filter+Works. I'm too lazy to go through them, and we don't need a complete list, anyway, just some diversity. Maybe we could add the link as a footnote? anotherslashfan 19:45, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
Oh, the link doesn't display correctly, sorry. As I said, one can combine the filter tags "Crossover" and "Doppelganger". anotherslashfan 19:47, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Different Type?

What do we call a crossover where the characters in a pairing are played by the actors who play different characters in another fandom where their characters are a popular pairing? I found the stories Provocateur and Sacred and Profane on a Q/O TPM rec page and both are crossovers of Scarlet and Black and The Bounty. In Scarlet and Black, Ewan McGregor is Julien Sorel and in The Bounty Liam Neeson is Charles Churchill - in TPM they are Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. Is that a double variant of the split OTP? --Doro (talk) 09:33, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Yes, we need a name and a place for those, either a section on this page or a whole new plural "Same Actors Crossover" page. --msilverstar (talk) 22:55, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
I found some other terminology for this same phenomenon and have stored it on the crossover pairing page here: Crossover_Pairing#Actor-based_crossover_pairings.--aethel (talk) 01:12, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
Thank you, that's a good label! --msilverstar (talk) 04:03, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
