Talk:Rock Lee
Narutopedia says that, despite the name ordering, "Lee" is his family name. So should I add a DEFAULTSORT to sort as "Lee, Rock"?? Honest question of what people more into the Naruto fandom would prefer. - Yeah, "Lee" 'is' Rock Lee's family name and "Might" is Might Guy's family name, but no one ever switches the order around, so I don't think we should sort Rock Lee as "Lee, Rock". In fics that use the FamilyName GivenName order, Rock Lee is still Rock Lee and in fics that use the GivenName FamilyName order, Might Guy is still Might Guy, in my experience. (Related: some fans use "Maito Gai" or "Might Gai" instead of "Might Guy"...but they still never switch the names around, in my experience.) Hoopla (talk) 16:12, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
- I agree with Hoopla. Not even talking about fannish use. In Japanese where the last name comes before the first name, characters say "Uchiha Sasuke", "Uzumaki Naruto", "Haruno Sakura" etc but never "Lee Rock" or "Gai Maito". --Alpha (talk) 21:51, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
