Plagiarism, differences in coverage between Wikipedia and Fanlore

Hello Anatomikal,

Thank you for creating this article; the NYT article and the reaction surrounding it is relevant for documentation on Fanlore. However, in Fanlore's current practices, we do not copy entire articles from Wikipedia for a couple of reasons. First, Wikipedia and Fanlore have fundamentally different missions; this affects how we write articles and the focus of our coverage. Secondly, copying content wholesale from Wikipedia is plagiarism when not properly attributed.

Fanlore is not a web archive; if you wish to save a copy of the Wikipedia article, please use a dedicated service such as the Internet Archive. As for this Fanlore article, it will likely be changed to remove plagiarized content and document the essay's relevance in fandom.

Please let me know if you have any questions; I have flagged this article for fellow Gardeners for any further input that they may have. Pinky G Rocket (talk) 20:21, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

Ensuring integrity of coverage and the page

Hello Pinky G Rocket

Apologies for not using archive.org, you are right that I should have and then brought discussion of the page here. I have deleted the contents of the page. Have a lovely day!

I was thinking Template:CommentaryPress would probably work better for this article since it is a new article about related to Taylor's fandom -- Kingstoken (talk) 20:35, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
