Talk:Live Long and Prosper (Vulcan salute)

Live Long and Prosper is a greeting that usually accompanies the salute, not the salute itself, which doesn't appear to have a name other than "Vulcan Salute" (or ta'al, which we never hear in canon). Rename?--æthel 15:07, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Or, aethel replies to aethel, it's not so much the page name as the content of the page, which implies that the phrase is the name of the hand gesture. "Salute" could easily refer to the words.--æthel 15:11, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Both Wikipedia and Memory Alpha call it Vulcan Salute, but that doesn't mean we have to. I think as long as it's linked from the Live Long and Prosper disambiguation page, people will be able to find it.--æthel 20:49, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Re the info just added regarding the "Diamond Cutter" handling; I'm not seeing (at least on the Fanlore page) the connection between this handsign and the Vulcan one. Also, the info regarding the celebrity's religion is not relevant. --MPH (talk) 23:31, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

I agree — they're obviously not the same sign, and even if there is some kind of connection, it's bizarre that the celebrity's religion status was mention and that this information is in the "fanon" section. I think this edit should be undone. - Hoopla (talk) 23:41, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
