Talk:Little Bad
A while back there was some discussion on what to do with fandom-specific glossary terms--here, for example. The solution proposed was to create redirects for individual terms, list and define them on a single Fandom Glossary subpage, and create top-level pages for terms that warranted a page of their own. But I'm not sure if this idea gained traction. Should we create a Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Fandom Glossary page and move this page to Little Bad (or copy its contents to the glossary)? Any other solutions floating around out there?--Æthel 22:14, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- I like this. Furthermore, if we code the terms as, say, level 3 subheadings, they'll show up in the Table of Contents sidebar, making the page much easier to edit and navigate. Stultiloquentia 00:23, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

This page almost definitely needs to move somewhere - I created a basic subpage mainly as a temporary solution because I couldn't quite get my head round how the intra-fandom map should work. To me it feels more like it should be a tiny little stub in the back-end of a larger page about reading the show according to an idea of parallel seasons (which itself would be among a group of other established readings such as the S1-3/S4/S5-7 teenage-/transitional-/adult-issues idea), but then that all seems rather complicated.
Personally I'd be more in favour of finding a place for it to be a subpage, but that's only because I find long lists hard to take in (and I imagine the Buffyverse list could become ridiculously long). I don't know if there's a style convention that goes against having a page for something that only needs two lines of information? - Quinara 00:00, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
I would prefer to let each glossary term have its own page and then collecting the links to all the Buffy glossary terms on a BtVS Glossary subpage, pretty much like some of the zine link collections, for example Starsky and Hutch fanzines (which I think should be a S & H subpage). The reason why I prefer link lists is that although some terms may only require one or two lines, other terms could have much longer articles with meta discussions, fanworks, controversies, whatever. If you add a lot of that content in a glossary format, it will feel out of place and people might restrict the contect to fit the format and I don't think we should put these kind of (unintentional) restrictions on content.--Doro 06:09, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- I like this solution, since it would provide for systematic organisation on the glossary page (fanon-terms, show-lore-concepts etc.) as well as as much expansion as required. A one/two line summary of the term's definition could be used on the glossary page for completeness. As far as the subpages go, I wonder whether the glossary should be a subpage of BtVS (with a redirect from AtS), with the terms being given the prefix/suffix (BtvS-Glos) to solve ambiguity issues. Categories such as 'soul' (which I think merits specific discussion in BtVS's case) are bound to get confusing if we leave them as unspecified top level pages. - Quinara 09:55, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think having it as a subpage of BtVS with a redirect from Angel makes sense. :) A prefix/suffix for terms like 'soul' sounds like a good idea. I think 'soul' is something that would need a disambiguation page anyway.--Doro 11:40, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
Planning to Merge
I plan to merge Big Bad and Little Bad on the Big Bad page, with Little Bad as a redirect. At the moment, both pages are stubs and they are related terms. Adding a note here in case anyone wants to diagree with the merger or propose a different way of handling these two pages. I'll add a note on the talk page of Big Bad too--Auntags (talk) 00:22, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
