Terms of the relationships of the Yunmeng characters

This page, as well as Wei Wuxian page, refer to Wei Wuxian as Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli's "adopted" brother. Which is a common interpretation of course, but this terminology is used in the canon sections of the page. In terms of canon, I can only remember terms such as shijie or shidi (martial sister/brother) being used to refer to that relationship. ChengXian page has gone with "martial brother" in this case, which I personally think is a better option. How the relationship is seen by the fandom, whether it's adopted family or anything but that, should be explained in the fanon section, and as it is a very controversial topic in the fandom, kept relatively "neutral" (or as vague as it is in the words they use in canon) in the canon sections, in my opinion. I would like to know other people's opinions though, if you think the current phrasing is good or if it should be changed how I suggested it or into something else?

I want to emphasize this is about the canon sections specifically, not about sections such as "Mending Sibling Relationships" in the tropes (if it's seen as mending sibling relationships by the fandom, then that's what it should be called).

At the same time I'd like to point out that this page describes every ship as "a ship" except for Chengxian which is described as "an incest ship", which is another topic of debate not only in this specific fandom but also fandoms at large (what kind of dynamic counts as incest and such), and that's a debate that is sufficiently explained on the Chengxian page itself, and doesn't need that special description on the short list on this page, as none of the others have such a thing either, in my opinion. --Sanla (talk) 18:33, 5 October 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing this up! I made some edits to this page and added a section on family fanon for Wei Wuxian. Just a note I’m here to update the relative frequency of the pairings, mostly the romantic ones. At this point it’s been about 3 years, and in the English-speaking fandom, I see “adopted” or “martial” used a lot for JC and WWX (so presumably “adopted” at least, for JYL and wwx too). I don’t think I really changed any of the terminology in the pairings, either gen or romantic, although I did add in AO3 tag links to Twin Prides and Yunmeng Siblings.
