Talk:Hockey RPF
What is the reason for thefourthvines's comment being removed? --Mrs. Potato Head (talk) 13:00, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- I looked more closely at the removal (http://fanlore.org/w/index.php?title=Hockey_RPF&diff=next&oldid=469597) and it seems very on point and fannish meta - it is a dicussion of a "Sidney Crosby mostly videospam, which I found via sociofemme's awesome Primer of Hockey Primers." I'll add it back in the sme place - if it belongs in another location, drop a note here.--MeeDee (talk) 15:16, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hi there, I think the removal was my edit - I've been fiddling around a lot with this page. I originally put in quite a bit of biographical information on different players, but later tried to limit that, to focus on the fandom personas of these people. It looks like it's been edited out again though? Silverbeet (talk) 01:09, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
Oh, and nice to see some other people updating and working on this page. :) I have a whole bunch of material that I still want to add, but I haven't pulled it together or written it up yet. And of course, I don't want to overwhelm the page with my perspective. Silverbeet (talk) 01:14, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for finally making the page less empty! It looks much better now. :) --Tiyire (talk) 16:51, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
I did another large update, adding a whole bunch of info and links that I'd had gathered for a while. I quoted quite extensively from different posts and discussions threads, just cause you never know when stuff will go offline, and personally when reading I like to have a bunch of source material to read on the page, so as not having to click too many links. If people feel it is excessive though, feel free to edit. Once again I invite others to add more info, I'm sure there are many aspects of this fandom that I'm unaware of. - Silverbeet (talk) 13:50, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for adding all of this. It looks great to me! Cesy (talk) 14:13, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks! The glaring omission is fanworks, but that's best tackled by someone else. (Anyone ... Bueller?) I mainly wanted to add in the fannish meta stuff I'd found. - Silverbeet (talk) 22:27, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
Structure of page
The page is becoming long enough to break up into separate parts. I´d suggest making separate pages for players and/or pairings in a Category:Hockey RPF, but to keep the general information about teams on this page (at least for now.)--Tiyire (talk) 16:51, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
Linkdump?
Hi other Fanlore contributors, I have a whole bunch of links stored up, but not the time/inclination to further edit this page in the near future. If I left them here, would anyone be interested in (potentially) using them as sources for the article? Silverbeet (talk) 07:03, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
- Sure! Just put them here. I´m currently planning to make a couple of separate pages for players/pairings, but I´ll happily take a look and hopefully have time/know where&how to include them, or someone else will. --Tiyire (talk) 16:43, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks Tiyire, I'll get on to collating those when I have a minute. Silverbeet (talk) 20:44, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
And finally
Okay so this is just a bunch of random stuff I've collected, people may use it how they will.

Wider fandom
This article so far is almost entirely about slash fandom, but there is also fanfic on sites like Mibba that is quite different. We should mention that somewhere, but I'm not at all familiar with it.--Tiyire (talk) 14:13, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
Hockey RPF and the Fourth Wall
The Fandom and the Fourth Wall section is very long, so I'm proposing making a separate page for it akin to Bandom and the Fourth Wall. – caes (talk) 06:58, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
Pairing Reorganization
Okay, so, the pairings section is very moment-in-time, and I'd like to make it a bit more insightful in terms of what those pairings mean and when they were relevant. So I propose reorganizing the table to have columns:
- Pairing
- Pairing Nicknames
- Relationship Type and Era - the big change, so that, eg.
- Nolan Patrick/Travis Konecny would be "Teammates (Philadelphia Flyers, 2017-21)"
- Tanner Pearson/Tyler Toffoli would be "Teammates (LAK, 2012-2019; Vancouver Canucks, 2020)"
- Nolan Patrick/Nico Hischier would be "Draft Class 2017"
- Leon Draisaitl/Matthew Tkachuk would be "Rivals (Edmonton Oilers/Calgary Flames, 2016-2022)"
- Connor McDavid/Dylan Strome could be "Draft Class 2015; Teammates (Erie Otters, 2013-15)"
Totally open to title change for the third column, or ideas on breaking it up into additional columns, or anything along those lines!
(I would also like to remove some of the pairings that were primarily background pairings in fics, because it's going to be an ever increasing list so it probably will be less unwieldy if it's a bit more selective (but also to save a bit of research time to do this).) Sungabraverday (talk) 10:32, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
- One option is that you could make the pairings a separate list, such as List of Game of Thrones Relationship Names or List of Popslash Relationship Names (although the second example doesn't have tables, and I prefers table for organization) -- Kingstoken (talk) 12:04, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
