Does anyone know how to search for fanfic reviews on Goodreads? --MPH (talk) 14:20, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

I don't think there's an easy way to do that, since they don't have a fanfic category and people add fics as books. --Alex (talk) 19:22, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
It was hard to find, but there is a fanfic genre. I've updated the page. I'm still not sure how books wind up in the different genre buckets; it might be dependent on users tagging their reviews or whoever created the record deciding to assign it to fanfic.--æþel (talk) 01:36, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

Link Dump Organizing

Note: this is the place to add links about the topic that may be of interest to contributors to the page. There is no requirement to add any of the links below; in fact, it would be counter productive to include them all on the main page, so please select judiciously.--MeeDee (talk) 03:06, 19 December 2014 (UTC)

What do you think of the idea of taking these links and putting also putting them on a subpage called Goodreads/Linkdump or Goodreads/Links for Further Reading? --MPH (talk) 13:31, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
Great ieda - but let's wait until we can format them and maybe make some subject groupings?--MeeDee (talk) 03:06, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
Okay. Nudge me when it's time to make the page and we can start to hash out groupings. --MPH (talk) 14:24, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
I still have a few more to add. Then, the idea would be to keep them organized by platform, list them by post date, and add a brief summary or excerpt in parens. Those that have migrated already to the main page can be deleted.--MeeDee (talk) 16:24, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
My thoughts: we each take a section and (1) verify the link is not already on the main page (2)if not, organize the links in that section by post date (not archive date) and add that date at the end (date x), (3) grab a snippet to put in parens at the end. To start, I'll take Section 3 of the Tumblr posts. any other suggestions?--MeeDee (talk) 16:24, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
I just moved the page to the Goodreads/Links for Further Reading, so folks should edit there. I'll start by putting them in order by date. --MPH (talk) 23:53, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
When we are done with the tumblr links, we can work on the other ones listed here.--MeeDee (talk) 18:24, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
Tumblr section 1 and 3 completed. --MeeDee (talk) 20:24, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
To avoid edit conflicts, I'll work on the Twitter links on this page and then transfer them over when I am done.--MeeDee (talk) 22:24, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

Links have all been moved to Goodreads/Links for Further Reading. Please add new links there.--MeeDee (talk) 22:24, 21 December 2014 (UTC)

Question about vocab

In the Effects on Mainstream section, do you think that "blanket person" in this quote means "blanket statement"? -- "I thought that how fandom handled it — providing blanket person or including restrictions/guidelines on profile pages — was an uneven, but potentially viable, solution (at least it worked well for me)." --MPH (talk) 14:21, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

I think that is what she meant - a blanket statement about when someone could refer to your person. I've never seen it used before though.--MeeDee (talk) 16:41, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

Wikilinks

I added a lot of wikilinks and redirects last night. Perhaps others will take a stab at making more wikilinks, and/or making some of the remaining red links turn that beautiful, beautiful blue? --MPH (talk) 14:52, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
