I feel like there should be a mention of Crowley & Aziraphale's New Year's Resolutions, released by HarperCollins 24 December 2005 (and now annoyingly offline, thank god for archive.org); I recall that when it was posted, there was some discussion about whether it was a sequel, a deleted scene, an Easter egg, or canon-author-written fic. That said, I don't remember *where* such discussion was, and I'm not sure where to put it here. watersword 18:52, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
flag and split page
I was looking something else up on this page & noticed the “Needs Updating” flag, so I wanted to start a discussion if that is still necessary - per Auntags’ research, the flag was added back in 2019 so may not be applicable anymore. https://fanlore.org/w/index.php?title=Good_Omens&type=revision&diff=1451662&oldid=1414745 Relatedly but separately, enchantedsleeper also had the idea to split the book and TV fandoms since there’s so much expansion that can be done for the TV series fandom. - I'm not sure we still need the "Needs Updating" tag, because I think all three canons are are covered. The TV fandom section probably still needs the tag, because that section of the fandom is huge, and probably needs a little bit more said about it. Earlier this year I tried to add to the page, but I wasn't in the book fandom so I don't know what the major differences are between the two -- Kingstoken (talk) 20:14, 8 May 2022 (UTC)

- ellakbhesse, I don’t think you need to add that link specifically because anything published on AO3 before 2019 would’ve been inspired by the book, so when I split the page, I’ll just look for a couple of the most-kudos or most-comments fics on there & use them as examples. - Thanks for the response, but this link is not on AO3 I found it while updating some references links, I thought it would be interesting since it is a fanfics site where someone published their work inspired by Good Omens, and as I mentioned before, I only know the fandom of the streaming series, I don't know the exact date of the book's release or the radio version, so I left the link to be added at their discretion --Ellakbhesse (talk) 18:32, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

- Yes Kingstoken, that’s precisely why enchantedsleeper (and I think this is a great idea) suggested splitting off the TV fandom because there IS so much more to say, so it would leave that open for continued editing (ellakbhesse, I like your idea of putting the “Needs Updating” tag on the TV fandom page, because I think we all agree that could be expanded), while letting the book/radio page progress as an article on its own legs. So 1) I think we’re agreed on splitting off the TV fandom, although I’ll leave this for another day or two before I do anything to give others time to weigh in here on the Talk page just in case. The TV fandom page would definitely get the “Needs Expanding” (not precisely updating) tag. Unless either of you thinks I need to wait longer than a day or two? 2) I don’t think we need to put a tag on the book/radio fandom page, partly because it was smaller so it may well be in good shape and partly because none of us are in it, so I don’t want to stick other editors with a tag they don’t think is relevant heh. Yes, exactly as said below (I think Auntags?), hopefully this will encourage editors in any fandom to contribute, since making them separate pages will actually make it less daunting. - Thanks for starting this discussion Joanna R. Focusing on something Kingstoken said, I think it would be a good idea to split this page into one page for the TV shows, and one page for the Book and radio show. Basically, I think having all the fandoms on one page might discourage editors who are only in the TV fandom from contributing. So I would be in favour of moving the TV content to a new page and maybe adding an ExpandArticle flag with details of what we know we need to add. A similar ExpandArticle flag on a Book & radio show fandom page might also encourage folks who are familiar with the fandom pre-2018. --07:59, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
- Auntags I also agree to split the page as told by you, Joanna R and Kingstoken. I only know television/streaming fandom, before the series I didn't even know about the existence of the book much less that it was adapted for radio. It was from this article that I learned everything, but I feel that the part relative to the series is very small --Ellakbhesse (talk) 18:39, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
Back about a week later and haven’t seen any further hesitance on this other than the initial positive thoughts, so I’m going to go ahead to split them! Hi Ellakbhesse thanks for adding more detailed information about the novel publication! However, I’m wondering if we can rollback your edit at the top of the page where it says “This article is about the 1990's Pratchett and Gaiman fantasy apocalypse novel. For the streaming series under the same name, see Good Omens (TV).” because another user had already added the disambiguation line at the top of the page “This page is about the book fandom; you may also be interested in the Good Omens (TV) fandom.” with the link to the TV Fandom page.
