Talk:Fic Finding Community

Would it make sense for me to add and list all of the fic finding communties out there under Related Links, organized by fandoms? And add a link to Fan Communities category? I keep tracks of fic finding comm so I have an extensive list of them; I just don't know if it would be allowed/necessary to essentially create a fic finding comms masterlist. --Wistfuljane

I think it'd be better to create subpages with lists. If there are lots of ficfind comms for a fandom, it can get its own page; otherwise, several could be on a page. (TV Show Fic Find communities; Comic Book Fic Find communities, etc.) --Elfwreck 22:52, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
Hm, yes, you're probably right: a subpage would be better. It will be a juggling act to create a list that will allow linking to individual fan community page and to the actual community site. I was thinking of a format of something like this:
Popslash
Smallville

Why are a couple of communities on the main page, but most only on the subpage? I think it makes sense to have meta about ficfinding and external lists of comms as related links, but the communities should be treated equally, rather than some being singled out. The only reason would be to have maybe the first ficfinding comm on LJ linked in the text and then as reference, or the largest or something like that.--Ratcreature 08:32, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

rename

As I understand it, "fic finding" is specifically a type of journal community and not the general activity of searching for fic, which has its own page, Searching for Fanworks on the Internet. I propose we rename this page to Fic Finding Community or Finder Community.--aethel (talk) 18:15, 3 July 2017 (UTC)

I vote for Fic Finding Community. --MPH (talk) 19:23, 3 July 2017 (UTC)
