Talk:Blue Oak

Could this page be renamed to 'Green Oak (Pokémon)'? Pokemon has many characters with the same name, and he shares his name with Blue (Pokémon) because they switched names in the English localization, which is very annoying from an archival perspective, but I think I sorted it out. His name is 'Blue Oak' in most official translations, but on Tumblr I see most people call him 'Green' because that's his name in the Japanese version of Pokémon Red and Blue. I've been in the fandom for a while and I know him as either name, but I made a page for the "Blue" character and I think having the page titles be called different names rather than both being "Blue" would be best. I've also seen a a lot of NamelessShipping shippers call him Green Oak. The (Pokemon) is added since he also shares his name with his manga counterpart Green Oak (Pokémon Special) and I wanted it to be two different pages so the pages will be less cluttered with info basically for two different characters with separate fandoms.--Cavewomania (talk) 06:51, 30 December 2023 (UTC)}}

I agree that "Blue" and "Green" are both commonly used for this character so it could go either way. I don't think "(Pokémon)" is enough of a disambiguation where an article is about a particular media/incarnation though. I would do Green Oak (Pokémon Special) and Blue (Pokémon Special), and this page could either stay Blue Oak (I don't think that's too confusing especially with a hatnote) or be Green Oak (Pokémon games). --sparc 20:44, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
