Okay, I really, really hope I didn't muck things up in my work to combine the content of three pages. I tried really hard to honor all the edits. Please feel free, fellow fans, to, of course, revise and tweak this page. --MPH (talk) 20:10, 18 September 2019 (UTC)

You've done a fabulous job, MPH :) I'm so happy we have a page for it all! --enchantedsleeper (talk) 14:20, 19 September 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for sorting this out! Category/meme question: is there a standard name for the "My [xxx] won a Hugo Award"/"Hugo Award winning [xxx]" meme/joke? One of the redirects should get the meme category I think. And it's slightly complicated by the fact that it was already a running joke before the "What It Means" post, but all the drama seems to have spread the joke more widely/reinvigorated it? I'm still trying to figure out what the heck is going on as there appears to be simultaneously a discussion about who genuinely can say they won this award vs. people arguing about whether they're allowed to joke about saying they won the award.--aethel (talk) 02:24, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

P.S. So I added the meme cat to Hugo Award Winner Meme for now. I also found someone else describing it as a meme. Another thought: the Chuck Tingle page alludes to wank that happened after AO3's nomination but before the win, but this page doesn't show anything controversial happening until after the win. Something else for someone to research?--aethel (talk) 01:05, 21 September 2019 (UTC)

Kevin Standlee's Comments

I think it would be helpful to preface the comments in this section by who is saying it with [name]. --MPH (talk) 01:49, 21 September 2019 (UTC) Added: or this and/or section that divides Standlee's comments and those that are comments to Standlee's comments. --MPH (talk) 01:51, 21 September 2019 (UTC)

There are a lot of lengthy responses copied in full to this page that are difficult to parse through. I suggest summarizing the different viewpoints and moving most of the full quotes to a new subpage, such as Archive of Our Own and The Hugo Awards/Responses to Kevin Standlee, or whatever title would be appropriate. —caes (talk) 23:14, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
