Téa Gardner, known as Anzu Mazaki in the manga and Japanese version, is the main female protagonist in Yu-Gi-Oh.

Fanfics from the 2000s envolving Téa ofter contain some kind of Character Bashing of her. Sometimes this was because she was the main love interest for Yugi and Yami Yugi in the show, meaning writers that disliked the ship or shipped something else would portrait her as mean or annoying to justify their favorite couples. Other times the writer disliked her because they found her obnoxious, often turning her personality into something closer to her Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series counterpart; characters complaining about her making too many friendship speeches were a common sight.
