Excerpts

What was your first experience with fanfic?:

Found it strictly by accident after visiting a X-files Fan Site. Was thoroughly and immediately hooked. Fell in love with a now defunct site that was mainly MSR and read about everything on it.

What made you into a Skinneroticist?:

Mulder, in many of the shows, was just too much of a obsessed loner who teetered on the edge of a nervous breakdown. The character was too full of self-doubts and angst (which I loathe). I could never see him really establishing a meaningful sexual relationship with Scully or any other character. While the Surly one presented all kinds of alpha male fantasies. Was he a Pontius Pilate, bowing to political expediency? Was he a really a hidden ally? Did he have the hots for Scully but keep it hidden under that starched shirt? Was he getting it on with Mulder? The Rat? All of the above

What was your first experience with SIS?

Stumbled on it by accident and was totally addicted. I read mainly smut, since it is often better written and infinitely more interesting, and here it was in quantity!

What are your top five all-time favorite stories?:

The het ones are finished as opposed to Slash and not including current WIPs are --

Disciplinary Action (The Whole Series) - K. Bellot -- Hot, sexy, slightly kinky Skinner and a great Original Character. A little spanking and other games.

Just Call Me Skinner - Zoe K -- Clever plot twist and I love the idea of being handcuffed to the Surly One.

Morning Glow and Afternoon Delight - Batela -- Scrumptious threesome and Cabin Fic.

Hard-Soft (Again the Whole Series) - Leelee -- Hot dom Skinner, Scully and finally Mulder in one incredibly sexy, kinky threesome. Then that vacation weekend in Florida.

Strays - mlb -- Humorous Magical Cat fic that winds up with promises of wonderful long term threesome.

And if you haven't read the new series The Maiden Tribute by Paula Bilyeu, I highly recommend it, too. Wonderful sense of Victorian history and superb dialog. (I know that's six, but I'm a writer, I don't count well.)

How do you write? Do you have any special technique?

I'm very lucky. I have a superb writing partner, Leelee, and we write most things together. Our first story together was The Curious Curse of Jenny Mullryne, which we still get feedback about. Generally we'll do a rough outline of the story first. I'll often get into one character while she gets into another. Then we write back and forth as much in-character as possible. Occasionally, when we get stuck with our own solo stories, we'll even switch and the other person will finish the story. We did this with The Truth About Blow Jobs and Mistress Lea's New Pet. Writing in another style like that, trying to fit your work seamlessly into an established story line, really makes you polish your skills.

Do you write for other fandoms?:

Nope, just X-files. While there are other TV shows that I watch like Law & Order, ER and the Practice, none of them seem to grab my creative imagination.

How do you feel about fanfic in general?:

It's absolutely amazing that there are so many incredible talented writers out there, who do this simply for the love of it. I've read material that as good, and often better, than many so-called traditional published writers. I'm in awe both of the quantity and quality that's produced. And, I'm very grateful for every one of these fabulous prolific authors. They've given me hours and hours of reading pleasure.
