Shen Jiu (courtesy name Shen Qingqiu) is a character from the danmei novel The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System.
Canon
In Proud Immortal Demon Way (the original book that the main character of SVSSS transmigrates into), Shen Qingqiu is the primary villain that the protagonist Luo Binghe sought revenge against. Luo Binghe was a disciple of Shen Qingqiu and was frequently mistreated by him, culminating in the moment when he is revealed as a half-demon and Shen Qingqiu throws him into the Endless Abyss. In that book, Shen Qingqiu appeared to be a basically one-note character whose purpose was just to ultimately be turned into a "human stick" by the protagonist. However, in SVSSS, much of Shen Qingqiu's tragic backstory prior to his becoming a peak lord is gradually revealed, which explains much of his behavior and the origin of the many negative rumors about him outside of his interactions with Luo Binghe.
