One Year is an Alex Rider story by BurntWhisper.
Summary:
A gentleman's agreement for handling business in the field was one thing. Going on the run together, trying to evade both of their employers, neither of which were prepared to let their best operative go, was quite another. OR: Alex and Yassen try to out-run MI6 and Scorpia for a year, without getting killed (or killing one another). Based on Valaks' "Gentleman's Agreement".
Author's notes:
This is intended to be a sequel to Valaks' "Gentleman's Agreement" and my own sequel to that fic, "Specific Performance". It treats Valaks' prequel "Turncoat" and TheInverseUniverse's "Twelve Hours" as GA-verse canon, but you do not need to have read any of these works in advance. Thanks to Valaks, as ever, for allowing me to play in her sandpit.[1]

Alex and Yassen on the run together goes swimmingly. Just kidding. It’s incredibly difficult (which makes it 1000x more fun!) The necessary close proximity forces them to get to know each other better, which sets the foundation for a slooooooow burn. Mature, incomplete. Alex is twenty-four when this fic starts.[2]
The slowest of slow burns featuring Alex and Yassen on the run from MI6, SCORPIA and their own feelings. Covering 3 months of their life on the run this fic features action as well as the slow, quiet moments where the budding relationship can truly shine through and behind it all the intelligence world continues to grind on threatening to take their happiness with it. It’s a beautiful fic with strong, detailed writing and the emotional weight that it deserves.[3]
