Percy Weasley/Oliver Wood is a non-canon slash ship in the Harry Potter fandom.

Canon

Percy Weasley and Oliver Wood were in the same year at Hogwarts. Though their interaction in canon is limited, both boys were in Gryffindor, so they presumably shared a dormitory for seven years.

Fandom

This ship is also known as the HMS Bedknobs and Broomstick on FictionAlley.[1] Much of the support for this ship is based on a presumed friendship and/or familiarity between the two boys, who shared a dormitory at Hogwarts, as well as other suggestive (though meager) evidence from canon. In the ship's manifesto, merelyn describes one canon scene that can be used to support this ship:

The only (admittedly tenuous) piece of canonical evidence comes from Prisoner of Azkaban, when the Gryffindor team wins the house cup. As soon as Harry catches the snitch, we find Oliver sobbing his eyes out in joy, and Percy “jumping up and down like a maniac, all dignity forgotten.” Now why would Percy, who doesn’t seem like the type to give three straws about Quidditch, loosen up for the first and only time in the books over a Quidditch game?

The answer to this question should be obvious- his secret boyfriend just won the Quidditch cup. Duh.[2]

Many also argue that Oliver and Percy, despite their "Odd Couple" vibe, have similar motivations, though they are pursuing different goals: "They are both extremely motivated and driven individuals. Oliver is just as obnoxious as a team captain as Percy is as Head Boy. They both know what they want, and they’re going to get there."[2] In addition, merelyn notes that Oliver Wood's character in the Harry Potter series is somewhat two-dimensional, leaving fic authors free to fill in the gaps in Oliver's character that JKR did not flesh out.[2] Both Percy and Oliver get relatively little screen time in canon (though Percy becomes significant in later books), which allows for a wide variety of possibilities for this ship. Percy/Oliver fics range from fluffy schoolboy romances to angsty post-OotP fics where Percy's rebellion against his family must be justified.

Fanfiction

  • In Between Days by Perpetual Motion, Wherein book 7 is completely ignored because wars don't tend to happen so quickly; Percy Weasley runs a safehouse [because that's as close to administrative work as you can get in a war], and everyone gets a chance to play minor character bingo. Get your cards and markers ready!
  • The Luckiest by Perpetual Motion, A direct sequel to "In Between Days" in which the war is over, but not really and book 7 continues to be completely ignored. Percy works for the Ministry, Oliver is a touch shady, Tonks and Shacklebolt prove their level of badass, and love is warm and gooey [most of the time]. Also, Seamus plays chorus, and The Golden Trio barely get a nod.
  • Smile, Fond by cest_what, Something's happening tonight, and the whole country is on edge. Newspaper people should know things, but Oliver's as wound up and lost as everybody else.
  • What Pride Doesn't Know by igrockspock, How Percy Weasley came to dance with Oliver Wood at Ginny's wedding is a long story, and he may have forgotten to tell his family a few parts of it -- like how he's gay, and in a relationship with a man.
  • Repetition is a Form of Change by sailthouforth, Wherein Percy changes jobs several times, encounters a strange piece of parchment, gains a few new friends and regains an old one, and nearly has an existential crisis over a dishtowel.
  • In This World of Strangers by AjesBlue
  • Dancing by Teague, Bill Weasley sets out to solve one problem and ends up with a whole lot of problems.
