Natsume Yuujinchou is a manga series by Yuki Midorikawa. It was also adapted as an anime.

The main character is Natsume Takashi, a lonely orphaned teenage boy who can see spirits (ayakashi/youkai) and inherited from his grandmother a book she used to capture the names of spirits and control them. Over the course of the series he gains a loving foster family, a spirit bodyguard, and human and spirit friends.

The fandom has many gen stories and loves the found family trope. Popular pairings include Natsume/Tanuma and Matoba/Natori.
