Lys ap Adin is a fan writer known in the Gundam Wing, Prince of Tennis, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, and Kuroko no Basuke fandoms. While she is primarily an anime/manga fan, she also sometimes participates in book fandoms such as Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, and the Newsflesh series and movie fandoms such as X-men Movieverse, among others. She is known for AUs, particularly in the vein of always a girl/always a boy genderswaps. She writes for a variety of relationships in each of her fandoms, though she often has relationships or characters she favors over others. Many of her ships are male/male pairings, but she also writes male/female and female/female ships, as well as poly ships in various configurations. In recent years, she has become preoccupied with the often-underrepresented or disdained female characters in her chosen fandoms and works to include them more prominently in her stories.

History

Lys ap Adin entered online fandom via Gundam Wing in 2000, after being introduced to anime with Sailor Moon prior to that. During that year she was very active on the GWML mailing list. During that year she also entered LiveJournal, which eventually became her primary locus of fannish activity. After Livejournal's handling of controversies such as Strikethrough, she began to seek other possible journal homes, trying first InsaneJournal before finally settling at Dreamwidth. In 2011, she also opened an account on Tumblr. While she initially hosted her fanfiction on her personal journal, eventually she created separate accounts for her personal journal and her fic. She maintains her primary fic journal on Dreamwidth and mirrors her posts to InsaneJournal, AO3, and Fanfiction.net while posting links to these on Livejournal and Tumblr.

After her first two years in Gundam Wing fandom, her fanfiction output tailed off, with a few stories here and there in various fandoms as she explored the anime available at the time, including Serial Experiments Lain, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Weiss Kreuz, Fushigi Yuugi, Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin and Escaflowne.

Her fanfiction picked up again in 2003 when she entered the Prince of Tennis fandom, and she has maintained a fairly steady output for the next few years, with one large spike in the winter of 2004 for the collaborative project Tennis Sanctuary. In 2008, she began writing for Katekyo Hitman Reborn, which was a very productive fandom for her during that time. As the Katekyo Hitman Reborn manga drew to a close in 2012, she transferred her attention to the series Kuroko no Basuke and maintained a steady output for this series.
