LZL is a slash writers' collective consisting of Louise Wu, Zoe Takashi and Loren Q - three X-Files Mulder/Krycek and Skinner/Krycek writers who shared a website, the LZL Slash Factory, and sometimes co-wrote together using Method Writing. Developed by Louise, Method Writing is "Method Acting + Role Playing + Improvisation + Slash Writing."

About themselves, they say:

Louise is the motivating force behind LZL. She was the first slash writer and primary driver for the 'method madness' that LZL's known for. [...] Her love of writing and natural coaching ability give Zoe and Loren inspiration.

Loren was the first X-Files fan, watching the show since season one. She finally convinced Louise that the great acting and decent story lines would be worth watching. [...] Although not much of a slash reader herself, Loren scoured site after site looking for slash to feed the voracious Louise and, soon after, Zoe. [...]

Loren had to be dragged kicking and screaming into slash writing. Always a good story teller, Louise kept nagging her to write stories, but still Loren resisted. Until one day a story poured out of Loren's demented head and demanded to be told. Louise became her punctuation slave, Zoe provided encouragement and Batesville was born.

Still not much of a slash reader, when not writing, Loren spends her time acting as 'visual aide' for Louise and Zoe's stories. It's a dirty job, but someone has to test those sex positions. She sacrifices by bending over and taking it like a man... all in the name of art.

Zoe was seduced into the world of slash. She was minding her own business, having an occasional homoerotic fantasy and not even watching the X-Files, when Louise started giving her slash to read. Loren gave her tapes of Krycek episodes. Then Louise asked her to co-write a story and Zoe took a chance on the crazy Method Writing thing. Zoe's characterization of Krycek was fabulous. The rest is history. [...] Sometimes, Louise & Loren think they've created a monster… but at least it's one with talent.
