Kuroo Tetsurou is a character in the manga and anime Haikyuu.

Canon

Kuroo is the captain of Nekoma High School's volleyball team during Hinata Shouyou's first year. At just shy of 188cm, he is regarded as a solid middle blocker and a well-rounded player overall, with proficiency in floor dives, digs, and spiking in addition to blocking. Dubbed as a "master of provocation" by Fukurodani captain Bokuto Koutarou, Kuroo is known for being a source of snide remarks and teasing. Despite this, he is demonstrably a kind and thoughtful character, going out of his way to provide blocking advice to Tsukishima Kei as well as encouragement to his childhood friend Kozume Kenma to keep playing volleyball. Though he has a tendency to irritate others, as shown when he upsets Tsukishima during after-hours practice during training camp, he is considerate enough to recognize when he has overstepped.

Pairings

Kuroo is frequently included in ships due to his flirty, teasing personality and canonical good looks.

His most popular pairing is that with his childhood best friend, Kozume Kenma, though he is also commonly shipped with rival middle blocker Tsukishima Kei. To a lesser, but still prevalent degree, he is shipped with Fukurodani captain, Bokuto Koutarou, and Karasuno captain, Sawamura Daichi.

Kuroo also features in the two most popular poly relationships in the fandom: Bokuakakurotsukki (also known as 'BAKT' or 'Third Gym') and Bokuakakuroken.
