Akaashi is the setter and vice-captain of the Fukurodani volleyball team as of the anime. He is a manga editor as of the time-skip in the manga.

Akaashi is primarily shipped with his captain Bokuto Koutarou with whom he is shown to be close to in canon, and other Akaashi ships are considered to be rarepairs.
