Hinata x Komaeda, most known as Komahina, is a juggernaut pairing within Dangan Ronpa fandom. The ship is between Hajime Hinata and Nagito Komaeda, both prominent characters. It has been shipped since Dangan Ronpa 2: Goodbye Despair was released in 2012.
Hinata is the protagonist of Goodbye Despair and Komaeda is his rival, as well as his ally. By some metrics, such as Archive of Our Own, Hinata x Komaeda is the most popular ship in all of Dangan Ronpa fandom.
The ship is similar to the other popular Dangan Ronpa protagonist/rival pairings: Naegi x Togami from Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Saihara x Ouma from Dangan Ronpa V3: Killing Harmony. Although both of the mentioned pairings are the most common BL ships in their entries' fandoms, Trigger Happy Havoc's is Ishimaru x Mondo instead.
Many Hinata x Komaeda works are also Kamukura x Komaeda, since Kamukura is another form of Hinata, explained more on his article. Many fans ship both.
