Influence of Demons by Gabrielleabelle is a Dark AU story pairing Buffy/Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This story was simultaneously posted on LiveJournal, The Bloodshedverse and Ao3.
Gabrielleabelle originally planned to write a sequel for this story, but ultimately did not.
Summary
Goes AU after S5's Checkpoint. Five years ago, Buffy and Spike fell into a portal to a dimension ruled by demons. Finally, reunited, their goal is to get back home. However, the years in this dimension have changed them. Spike's long isolation keeps him distant, and Buffy's enforced life at a brothel has caused her to forget the Slayer she used to be. Somehow, they'll have to find themselves again to defeat a powerful enemy and make it home.

NC-17, post-Checkpoint. Buffy and Spike fell into a portal and ended up in a Pilea-like alternate dimension ruled by demons. They can get back only together - but they landed in different places and it took Spike five years to find Buffy who. devoid of slayer strength, became a sex slave and a junky. Can the real Buffy the Vampire Slayer, please, stand up? Intriguing plot and sharp character study.[1]
Thank you for writing this story. It was refreshingly different and interesting character study of Buffy and Spike. I loved the darkness and rawness of it. I loved the way you challenged yourself and us readers. There was no easy answers to be found here. Things weren't suddenly all hunky-dory a-okay they lived happily ever after, when they finally reached their big goal and got back home. Far from it. They've changed and nothing is as it used to be for them. It's been a long journey, but if you ask me, this was only the beginning! I for one am looking forward to see where they go from here.[2]
